Deacons should be persons of spiritual character, honest repute, exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, warm sympathies and sound judgement. Their office is one of sympathy, witness and service after the example of Jesus Christ. The Session has delegated to the Deacons the duty of ministry to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who are in distress. To this end the Deacons meet monthly, in addition to their shared ministry of home and hospital visitations.
