Orienteering, Mountaineering and Rafting Course

This 8 week course, geared for youth in Middle and High School, aims to team basic orineteering (compass/map reading), mountaineering (camping/rope/rapelling) and rafting (level 1-4) skills.


The course is led by Mr. Ken Squire, his wife Renee, as well as other skilled individuals and culimnates with an overnight trip to Ohiopyle State Park.
Parents are welcome, and encouraged, to particiate as well.
We will meet Sunday evenings beginning March 24th from 6:30-8:00pm - the same time as regular youth group.

Additional Information

  • Opportunity for parents to get involved with the Ohiopyle field training exercise.

    • We will need a minimum of nine adults.

    • Overnight camping: There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear.

  • An additional training exercise will be scheduled prior to Ohiopyle which will require students to navigate and rappel at local locations. The date and time TBD.

  • Cost to Attend: $25.00

    • Fully funded option available - this course is available to EVERYONE regardless of cost.

    • Sign Up Form can be printed HERE and turned in with your $25.00 at any youth group meeting, to the church office, or placed in the offering plate.
